Chapter 01 — The Story

Rwanda should not have to import its quality.

NDB Ltd was founded in Kigali in 2013 and registered with the Rwanda Development Board with a conviction that was unfashionable at the time: that Rwanda should not have to import its quality.

Founder Yves Nkubito Gashi had spent years in wood manufacturing, construction and interior fit-outs — long enough to know exactly where imported furniture fails in Rwandan rooms, and where local workmanship fails imported expectations. NDB was built to close both gaps at once: international-standard finishing, produced locally, by a team trained in-house.

What began as a carpentry workshop is now a full interior solutions atelier — a design studio and a factory sharing one roof in Gasabo — serving homes, offices, restaurants, clinics and institutions across Rwanda and the region.

Chapter 03 — The Founder

Yves Nkubito Gashi

Founder & Managing Director

Eighteen-plus years in wood manufacturing, construction and interior fit-outs. Yves still leads design, production planning and quality personally — you will meet him, not a sales layer. He studied at École Privée de Gisenyi and ULK, and invests continuously in staff training and workshop modernization. His standard for the team is the one he holds himself to:

“Nothing comes easily — success requires hard work.”

Chapter 04 — The Team

Thirty-plus hands, one signature.

Thirty-plus people make NDB: production managers, senior carpenters, machine operators, welders, upholsterers, installation teams and quality assurance staff. Most were trained or upskilled inside the company — NDB runs ongoing in-house training and apprenticeships, building the next generation of Rwandan makers while it builds furniture.

Closing Statement — Made in Rwanda

“Made in Rwanda” is not a sticker we apply — it is the entire supply chain: local timber where feasible, local hands always, local warranty support forever.

When you commission NDB, the money, the skills and the pride stay in the country the furniture lives in.
